Lift Your Life With Lifting…

We are often told the benefits of exercise (and I harp on about it myself.)But it has been refereshing to see more women in the gym whoactually appear healthy because they lift weights. They come in, lift weights, have made sure they eat before hand to really get the most out of their exercise, eat afterwards to ensure their muscles can repair efficiently and effectively. And they generally seem to have a good understanding of their body (and mores', a respect for it too.)It isn't always about coming to the gym to 'kill' yourself. Yet it is always about learning to train safely and consistently.I thought I would share a few of my favourite benefits to weight training that you don't always read in health leaflets:It makes you feel good. Pulling a heavy weight off the ground gives you an undeniable confidence. It makes travelling easier. No need to ask the polite chap next to you on the plane to lift up your luggage in to the overhead compartment – you will be cleaning and jerking it up yourself. It makes cardio easier. You wont appreciate this benefit for a number of months. But try your usual cardio routine after lifting weight for a while. Stronger muscles mean greater momentum. You are less likely to develop a hunch back and saggy face. Osteoporosis (thinning of the bones which occurs frequently in post menopausal women) can cause your bones to reduce in size and compress under pressure. This occurs in your face and especially in your back. Weight training is the best exercise for osteoporosis prevention! You will look cool in the gym. Or at least, you think you do (until you take a video of yourself and realise that you don't.)@tkmmafitnessYes that is a hyper-extended neck right there..

But it has been refreshing to see more women in the gym who
actually appear healthy because they lift weights.

They come in, lift weights, have made sure they eat before hand to really get the most out of their exercise, eat afterwards to ensure their muscles can repair efficiently and effectively. And they generally seem to have a good understanding of their body (and mores’, a respect for it too.)

It isn’t always about coming to the gym to ‘kill’ yourself. Yet it is always about learning to train safely and consistently.

I thought I would share a few of my favourite benefits to weight training that you don’t always read in health leaflets:

It makes you feel good.

Or at least, you think you do
(until you take a video of yourself and realise that you don’t.)
