Hiiting off cardiovascular disease…

And if Harvard says HIIT says its good for you, who are we to argue?

Seeing as we are now incapable of exercising ‘just because’ we now need to research how to exercise, when to exercise and how long for.

High intensity interval training (HIIT) has been around for a some time. Initially perceived as a beginners method to exercising or a way to fit in a work out when short on time.

Now we are realising this is actually the key to cardiovascular health. As intervals are short, you can drive your heart rate as high as you can in this time knowing that you will get a rest shortly after. By pushing your heart rate to its maximum, you make the muscle stronger.

Personally, I still stand by its benefits of getting a decent work out in as short a time as possible, along with being able to exercise in the privacy of your own home. Plus it’s pretty much free!

There are loads of online guides for HIIT workouts, why not check out my personal favourite here…
